Abstract/Summary
Develop robust, accurate and reliable methods for evaluation of effects of nanoparticles in aquatic organisms. Acute, chronic and genetic effects will be included in the method development; Study the links between physical-chemical properties of manufactured nanoparticles and the acute an chronic effects in aquatic organisms; Study the role of nanoparticles as carriers of contaminants in relation to ecotoxicity and bioaccumulation of xenobiotic organic compounds; Transfer the knowledge gained into procedures applicable for use in hazard identifications for developers and producers of products based on engineered nanoparticles.
