SiO2 Immersion Surfs are designed to work in aqueous media just like ordinary glass slides or pieces of silicon wafer. Due to the SiO2 top layer, they exhibit similar surface chemical properties (Si-OH) for chemical grafting (ex: SAMs, PEG...) for example.
